AREA 17 DISTRICT 6

The primary duties of an Alternate DCM include serving in the DCM's Absence, assisting the DCM, has a vote at area assemblies and committees, ensuring continuity, and communication with GSR’s. The position requires 4-5 years of continuous sobriety, prior service experience, such as having served as a Group Service Representative (GSR) or a standing committee chair, be familiar with 12 Traditions, 12 Concepts, Robert’s Rules of Order, have time and energy to serve the district well, be able to lead the district while respecting the conscious of the district, be familiar with GSO and Area websites, have knowledge of email software to communicate with GSRs.

A trusted servant responsible for facilitating communication between the fellowship and professionals who encounter people in need of help within their work. The primary goal is to provide accurate information about what we can and cannot do to ensure more people are referred to the program.

A "trusted servant" responsible for promoting awareness, readership, and contributions to the Grapevine magazine and La Viña (Spanish counterpart), which are often referred to as "our meeting in print". This role serves as a vital link between the publications' offices and individual groups, helping to carry the message within and outside of meetings

In treatment or special needs settings focus on carrying the message to those who have limited access to regular meetings due to physical, mental, or institutional barriers

A specialized service position unique to our community in Hawaii (Area 17). The role is centered on managing and publishing The Mynah Bird, which serves as the official newsletter for the Hawaii Area 17.
